During the summer of 2022 I interned at a graphic apparel company called Ripple Junction in Fairfield, OH. While there I was given multiple opportunities to create t-shirt designs, and even illustrate an original design that was later purchased by the retailer PacSun!
Original Illustrated Shirt Design
This was my first design at Ripple Junction, and was later purchased by the retail store PacSun to be sold in the Fall of 2022! This shirt is considered to be a Ripple Junction Original and has no affiliation with any licenses. Because there were no provided assets for this design I saw this as an opportunity to use my illustration skills and create something that was completely original.
Fake Ads, Farmer's Market aesthetic, and positive verbiage were some apparel trends that were seen doing well in the market, so I was asked to develop a design with these trends in mind.
Licensed Shirt Designs
Hello Kitty
Working on licensed designs allowed me to use assets from pop culture media such as TV shows and rock bands. Each design has to be approved by the individual licensor, so there were some limitations as to what I could create using their assets.
